Course Description
Whether you’re already working in aged care or looking to start a rewarding career in the sector, you’ll learn how to effectively liaise with other healthcare professionals and take your career to the next level by supervising fellow workers. Other skills covered in this Aged Care course include how to respond holistically to client issues, providing services to older people with complex needs and assisting with medication. This qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community-based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery. Workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organisation and the quantity and quality of outputs of others within limited parameters.

Delivery Method and Duration
The course is provided through face-to-face delivery, online or a flexible blended learning option. We work with individuals and companies to offer a range of flexible delivery options. Delivered direct to you through our online learning system, via workbooks, in workshops or in a classroom this course is nationally recognised and fully supported by a dedicated trainer. The course will be delivered and assessed in 12 months.

Employment Opportunities
Job roles that may be available to you after successful completion of the course include:
• Aged Care Activity Worker

We work with National organisations who can offer these opportunities. Depending on the organisation, a Police Check and/or a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) may be required (This will need to be completed yourself, at your own expense) prior to commencing practical work placement.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Many of our students already have a high level of skills, knowledge and expertise that can be recognised through a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process. Students seeking recognition can apply for RPL on enrolment into a qualification or throughout the duration of their study.
